Newborough YFC is part of the Cambridgeshire YFC Federation which is part of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Club (NFYFC). NFYFC is one of the largest rural youth organisations in the UK with over 25,000 members and around 644 clubs.
The National Federation heads up Young Farmers, providing the framework for a whole host of exciting events, competitions and new experiences but it’s the members who really make the decisions.
YFC is led by young people, for young people and provides anyone aged 10 to 26 with a fantastic chance to meet lifelong friends, learn new skills, make a real difference to the local community and even travel the world!
There are eight clubs within the Cambridgeshire area and it may surprise you to learn who we are and what we do; we don’t wear wellies all the time and a large number of our members have no links to agriculture at all, just an interest in the countryside and a desire to meet like minded young people.
The Federation is small with 150 members, we are the most Northern of the Clubs. We meet regularly on Tuesday night from September through to July with a County event on the last Wednesday of the month.
We partake in the extensive NFYFC competitions programme which is around 30-35 competitions ranging from floral art to public speaking to cookery and stock judging. We also, have a wider range of activities at a County and Club level, its members voices we like to hear.
We hope you find everything you are looking for and would love to hear your feedback come along to a meeting!
